Minecraft Mondays is currently for 6th Grade Students at GMS. We will meet on Mondays at GMS from 3:00 - 4:30pm starting this FALL for the 2019-2020 school year!
The first 24 Students who turn in a completed permission form for a session, and are eligible under school rules, will be chosen for Minecraft Mondays. Currently, 6th Grade Students are only allowed to attend one of the sessions. Click on the Permission Slip Download button on the right to open the Permission Slip to print from home. |
Day 1
Tutorial World for the first hour. When students complete the Tutorial World they will reach a campsite. At the campsite, they should practice crafting at least 3 items from their Beginner’s Crafting Guide.
Time Permitting – Volcano World - Can children work together when volcanoes and an earthquake threaten their town? Day 4
Battle of Gate Pa for the first hour. Relive this famous battle from the New Zealand Wars.
Paleontology “The Dig” the last 20 minutes or another lesson. Turtle Island featuring ComputerCraftEdu – Students explore concepts of computer programming and computational thinking in this simultaneous online learning experience.

Day 2
Escape from Everest – Students wake up on Mt. Everest after a great flood has covered the entire earth. Earth’s survivors escaped on a spaceship to live in a space station. Work as a community to find and grow food, mine iron to create iron ore to complete work on your spaceship to Escape from Everest.
Alternative Activity: Norsecraft Viking World – Students explore Viking Culture in the world of Minecraft. Where did Vikings Live? What is a berserker? What is a prow? Students will learn about these, and more, in this virtual Viking themed scavenger hunt.

Day 3
Minecraft Art Fair – 2D Pixel Art Creation in the world of Minecraft. Students recreate, or create their own original 2D pixel art. We then take an aerial tour of everyone's art!
