About Applied Skills
The personal computer has become an essential tool in any student’s “toolbox.” As a result, the Computer Integrated Learning Class (or Applied Skills) was developed as a 6th grade class requirement. This class creates projects and performs tasks that promote ISTEP+ readiness.
The coursework incorporates the Indiana Middle School Business & Information Technology Standards. Students will learn and improve their skills and knowledge in Computer Technology, including Touch Typing, Computer History, Computer Hardware vs. Software, Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheets, Audio Recording and much more. We will also have an entire unit covering Digital Citizenship & Internet Safety. We will end the year examining Personal Finance & Basic Business concepts.
